About Polyglyph
Polyglyph is a free online tool that turns any text or name into many different writing and encoding systems at once — Morse code, binary, hexadecimal, Base64, the NATO phonetic alphabet, Braille, runes, upside-down text and more — all on a single screen.
Why it exists
Long before the internet, people invented clever ways to carry a message across a gap: the distance of a telegraph wire, the noise of a radio channel, the darkness a fingertip reads, or the strict logic of a machine. Those encodings — dots and dashes, raised dots, carved runes, ones and zeros — belong to no single spoken language. That is exactly what makes them feel universal, and it is why they still fascinate people everywhere.
Polyglyph gathers these systems in one place so you can see the same word wearing many different faces, side by side, and learn a little about where each one came from along the way.
What you can do
- Convert instantly. Type once and watch every format update in real time.
- Decode, too. Switch to Decode mode to turn a code back into plain text, with optional automatic format detection.
- Copy and share. Copy any single result, copy them all at once, or create a link that reopens the converter with your text.
- Learn as you go. Each format includes a short note on its history and how it is used, plus a deeper reference section.
- Use it anywhere. The interface is available in 12 languages and works on phones, tablets and desktops, in light or dark mode.
Privacy by design
Everything happens in your browser. Your text is never uploaded, stored or tracked — there are no accounts and no servers handling what you type. You can read the details in our Privacy Policy.
A note on accuracy
We work hard to make each conversion correct, but some systems are inherently approximate. Runic output is a transliteration rather than a historical spelling; the upside-down and leetspeak styles are playful; and the Korean Braille output is uncontracted and does not apply abbreviation rules. If you spot something that could be improved — especially in a translation or a Braille mapping — we would genuinely like to hear from you on our Contact page.
Languages
The interface and explanations are translated into English, 한국어, 日本語, 中文, Español, Français, Deutsch, Português, Italiano, Русский, العربية and हिन्दी, with right-to-left layout handled automatically for Arabic.
